Outpost Privacy Policy
Outpost is a desktop app for Gmail and Google Calendar. It runs on your computer and talks to Google directly. There is no Outpost server, and your mail, calendar and contacts are never sent to Delacour.

Who we are
Outpost is published by Delacour, the trading name of Chris Mitchell, based in New Zealand. "We" and "Delacour" in this policy mean the same person. Questions about this policy go to chris@delacour.co.nz.
The Google data Outpost uses
When you add a Google account, Google asks you to let Outpost access it. Outpost asks for: your basic profile (name, email address and picture), to label the account in the app; Gmail, to read, search, organise, draft and send your mail; Google Calendar, to show your calendars and create or respond to events; and read-only access to your Google contacts, to suggest recipients as you type.
Outpost uses this data only to show your own mail, calendar and contacts to you and to carry out actions you ask for, such as archiving a thread, sending a message, snoozing a conversation or accepting an invitation.
Where your data lives
Your mail, calendar and contacts stay with Google. To be fast, Outpost keeps a cached copy of what it has downloaded in a database on your computer. Your Google sign-in tokens are stored in your operating system keychain. None of this is sent to Delacour or to anyone else.
Snooze and send later are stored as Gmail labels and drafts in your own account, so they stay visible in Gmail on the web and on your phone.
Removing an account in Outpost, or uninstalling the app, deletes the local cache and tokens for it.
Google API Services: Limited Use
Outpost's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The policy is at https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy.
In practice: your Google data is used only to provide Outpost's features to you. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never used to build a profile of you, and not used to train any AI or machine learning model. No person at Delacour reads it.
What Outpost does send
Usage analytics and crash reports go to PostHog, an analytics provider in the United States. They record which screens are opened, which features are used (as counts and categories) and error details. They never include message content, subject lines, addresses, contact names, calendar details or anything you type, and screen addresses are stripped of every id.
Outpost checks a Delacour update server for new versions. That request says which app, version and platform is asking, and nothing about you.
If you send feedback from Settings, what you write (and any attachment you choose to add) is sent to Delacour so I can read and reply to it.
Your choices
You can remove an account from Outpost at any time, and revoke Outpost's access from your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once access is revoked, Outpost can no longer read or change anything in that account.
To ask what Delacour holds about you, which is only analytics, crash reports and any feedback or email you have sent, or to have it deleted, email chris@delacour.co.nz.
Children
Outpost is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. If a change affects how your Google data is used, Outpost will tell you in the app before it applies.
