Halter

During my time at Halter I was reponsible for many features that are now deemed critical to the daily operation of farmers that use Halter.

For the vast majority of my time at Halter I was the only developer in the Guidance team working on features in the mobile app building out how a farmer would guide and shift cows around the farm.

Which meant I got to wear many hats and learn a lot very quickly, but also having to deliver end to end working alongside backend and firmware engineers but as well as hardware and the farmers themselves.

But even before that when I first joined there was only 1 other engineer working on the mobile app, which meant we did allot of the heavy lifting early on.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with a great team to build a product that is now used by thousands of farms and millions of cows all around the world.

Shifting

Features Built

Shifting is how a farmer guides & shifts their cows around a farm, from point A to point B.

I was responsible for building the frontend interface for farmers to guide and shift cows around their farm, including paddock and gate selections.

This involved a lot of geo-spatial calculations to determine the best path for the cows to take.

Enabled farmers to shift cows around their farm more efficiently.
