AlfredRelease notes
What changed in each version of Alfred, newest first. The app updates itself; this is the record.
Major Changes
- Sign in with Google, add clients and projects, and book date ranges. Alfred builds each day's Drive folders (Photos, Videos, Final Images) and the calendar event for you. Link existing calendar events to a project, and run Reconcile to re-create anything missing.
Minor Changes
- On a project page, bookings now scroll sideways as cards, opening on your next booking, and the Drive folder browser sits underneath at full width. Drag, swipe with a trackpad, or page through with the arrows.
- Give each day of a booking its own shoot start and end time. Set one day and the other days copy it until you change them yourself. Linking a calendar event works the same way, and card imports match photos to each day's own times.
- Alfred has a new look, with light and dark modes and accent colours you can choose in Settings, plus a ⌘K command palette.
- Book a shoot straight from a client's page with the new New booking button: pick the project in the sheet, or have it filled in when the client has only one.
- Drag photos and videos from Finder straight into Alfred. Drop them on a project's folder browser to upload into the folder you're viewing, or onto a folder in the list. Folders keep their structure, and files already in Drive are skipped. On the Import page, drop files or folders to import them without a card: they're sorted into each booking's day folder, just like a card import.
- Settings changes now apply instantly and sync to Google Drive in the background. A status in the sidebar shows when your settings last synced, and changes made offline are kept on this Mac until Google is reachable again.
- Import a camera card straight into Drive. Plug in an SD card and Alfred finds it, reads when each file was shot, groups the files into shoots and matches each shoot to that day's booking. Photos and videos upload into the booking's day folder (Photos or Videos) and every file is verified against Drive before it counts as done. Where a day is ambiguous or has no booking, you choose. Give a booking a shoot window (start and end time) so two jobs on one day are told apart, and tune the import in Settings: subfolders, shoot gap, camera clock corrections and optional delete-from-card after a verified upload.
- Client and project pages open with a two-to-three month calendar: booked days are highlighted, click a booking to open its project, click or drag across days to book.
- The folder browser on a project now has a grid view with real previews of your photos and videos, and a size slider to make the tiles bigger or smaller. Select several items with Cmd/Ctrl-click or Shift-click, then drag them onto a folder or a folder in the path above to move them in Google Drive. Moving a booking folder asks first.
- Book straight from the calendar: click a day, or drag across several, to start a booking for those dates. Search for the client and project as you type, or add new ones right there; they are created along with the booking.
- Shoot times now block out busy time in your calendar, one block per shoot day, and Alfred can keep bookings on their own Alfred calendar. Pick it when you connect, or switch in Settings and your bookings move with you.
- Creating a client, project or booking is now instant. Alfred saves it straight away and builds the Drive folders and Calendar events in the background. A glowing orb in the top bar shows what is still syncing; click it to see each step, and retry or discard anything that failed. Unfinished work picks up where it left off the next time you open Alfred.
